2017 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF ALLTRACK – A GO-TO CAR FOR BURGEONING FAMILIES
Nearly a year ago Volkswagen showed us the prototype of Sportwagen Alltrack on the New York Auto Show. Well here we are a full year later, and VW has placed the same prototype into production. Yes, alltrack Golf Volkswagen 2017 is now a real thing you can buy yourself. This might be the most capable vw vw other than maybe a bigger SUV, and we will arrive at a minute.
Just to avoid being confused, it’s good to say that the Golf Alltrack runs with the name Sportwagen in the US. So do you see reviews of Alltrack, Sportwagen or even Alltrack Sportwagen only knows that it is the same car as a different name.
front look
Exterior Design
Now we’ve got out of the way, let’s see the closer Alltrack. For starters, this is not an alternative GTI, and it is very clear. It’s actually built as an alternative to people who like better off-road and car capabilities that are better, but don’t like to take SUV routes from Tiguan or similar cars.
Even though it was based on a standard golf cart, it was actually very typical. You don’t have to be a fan of cars or fanatics to find the difference that is immediately visible. For one thing, this is all higher than a standard car and there is a unique off-road body kit that you cannot miss. Bumper at both ends of the car is redesigned to a suite larger than more soil cleaning, and to provide different visual instructions.
And it’s the same thing as the side wheel arch. They have been topped with plastic molds to improve style and further states the fact that this is not ordinary golf, but more one can do things that you don’t even know. We don’t think many users will take an off-road alltrack, but it’s nice to know that it can do it. There are also further flared side frames to help do it.
The unique 17-inch wheels are made specifically for the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, and even a larger 18-inch roller is available as an option on the flagship trim. The side skirt has a matte / silver pieces at the end, mimicking the look of a much larger SUV.
It’s just that you don’t confuse him with normal golf (not what you can), there is a badge of “Alltrack” Chrome in the front honeycomb grille and in a truck.
Besides that, it is an ordinary golf style. Front fascia, certain headlights and gril especially the same, and so are the back. The roof line shows a golf carriage, even though the roof rack may be a gift for some people. If it is not raised from the ground you will have a more difficult time to say it is Alltrack.
Interior styling
The interior is mostly golf, and you will have trouble saying it if you are taken in matal. However, there are several distinguishing features that make at least some differences, visually if there is nothing else. There is a leather steering and shift lever, special seat cover with “Alltrack” branding that is sewn into it and a unique trim “dark magnesium” seen in the Central console.
Just to show car peculiarities, there is even a “4motion” badge Chrome on the lid for storage compartments, and more badges on the doorstep plate by stainless steel. More Chrome can be found on various buttons and switches throughout the cabin.
As far as infotainment, there is a “touch composition” system VW, a driver warning system and even reading lights led for each occupant. The screen is a 6.5-inch screen with touch screen technology and a distance sensor that can display rearview cameras and VW Car-Net connectivity. Especially for Alltrack Golf Volkswagen 2017 is “off-road mode” which displays the descent control of the hills and increases off-road traction control.
Ingredients are taken from golf, and are therefore high quality as expected. There are more than enough heads and legrooms for all occupants, even higher and upward heights give you more commandos on the road. There are 30.4 cubic feet available behind the third row of chairs, numbers that rose to 66.5 if you fold the 70/40 split back seat.
Machine lineup, performance
The European model will get three diesel and one gasoline, but the US has no luxury. Instead, the only unit is a 1.8L machine TSI 4 cylinder which develops 170 hp and 199 lb-ft torque. Europeans will get the same output, but we have to wait and see the diesel specifications. Our guess is that TDI 2.0L will come with a summons 130, 140 and 170 horses, but there are some time to go before we find out.
The gasoline engine is mated to DSG 6 speed, although the six-speed manual will be available later on. Power is sent to the four wheels through a 4Motion system. This is the most sophisticated, take advantage of the Hladex-5 clutch and activated using an electro hydraulic pump.
To save fuel and wear, Alltrack Golf Volkswagen 2017 is a front-wheel drive in most situations except when the slip is detected. Then, up to 50 percent of available tores can be sent to the rear wheels too. Just like a decent capless off-road car, Alltrack has an electronic differential key in both US. It works along with ESC, which means that individual brakes can be applied to the specified wheel, provide more turn-in cars and send power to the right side that need it.
2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack Price
Alltrack Golf Volkswagen Europe 2017 starts with € 30,000, a little more than standard golf wagon. No announced for version A.S., but taking European prices and the ability of the car makes sense to expect the initial price label of at least $ 30,000 for the base model. We think it will be worth every dollar, just because of how capable it is.
