Until a few months ago, the smallest crossover of Audi was Q3. However, after they saw how competitive the compact SUV market, Audi decided to release their own version. At first this will be released as the Audi Q1 2017 but many things change. Instead, back in March, Q2 was released. This is a compact crossover using the same platform as A3 does have a lot in common with a hatchback. However, this does not mean that the name Q1 will still be used. Instead, there are several rumors out there who suggest that even smaller models may be released that will compete in the lower end market.

Audi Q1 – in detail

Needle to be mentioned even though the Audi doesn’t say much about the car and so far Q2 is the one who sees it. For starters, he came up with all the new designs that made him stand out from all the other Audi cars out there. So far it seems to come up with a machine that is very efficient and unlike what some people say, it will be sold throughout the world. This means that the car will also get to the US at one point or another. The European model has just begun selling a few days ago and so far it is success. The price is not as good as we expected. The cost of the car is approximately equivalent to $ 25,000 for the base version. This is currently equipped with a cheaper machine that is quite expensive.

2017 Audi Q1 – Design

Just as we mentioned, the Audi Q1 released 2017, is currently known as Q2, it seems like nothing else out there. Audi does the best to make new images for the car and they just pulled it. The front end uses a much larger grille that is no longer hexagonal. In addition, the headlights of the Sport Thor Hammer LED DRLS and the bumper has a very aggressive look. As the standard gets a 17-inch rim and this can be upgraded to 20 inches. The back is not very good but still unique. Tail lights, Palka doors and even bumper made us think about bigger polo which wasn’t too bad. Pillar-C is covered in black and a sloping roof so the car looks like a small crossover coupe.

In the cabin

Unfortunately Audi does not continue all changes here. In fact, the production version of the Audi Q1 2017 is quite identical to regular A3. Both share dashboards, buttons, most features, steering wheels, and cluster instruments. A large 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster can be obtained as an option on Q2. However, SUVs come with accented interiors that offer body color accents throughout. This allows it to stand out even though it has a design that is identical to A3.

Under the 2017 Audi Q1 hood

As with most other cars based on the MQB platform, the Q1 2017 production model gets gasoline and diesel engines have been seen on other VW models. The basic unit is 1 liter straight three good for 115 horsepower thanks to turbocharging. There are also two diesel, units 1.6 and 2 liters, both offer between 115 and 190 horsepower. The US market version is likely to only receive two top end gasoline engines. This includes a 1.4-liter inline turbo offers 150 horsepower and 2 liters of turbo with 190 horsepower. Only two 2 liter engines will get the Quattro All Wheel Drive. All the others will only get the front wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission to save as much cost as possible.
